Dozens of gay couples staged a kissing protest in Barcelona as Pope Benedict drove past.

 The protest took place as Pope Benedict drove through Barcelona onboard his pope mobile traveling to the Sagrada Familia (Holy Family) temple, which he was to consecrate during an open-air mass.

 Gay rights activists had organised the flash-mob protest over the Internet, calling same-sex couples to gather and kiss for two minutes.
